John Mowbray

Born in 1446, John was created Earl of Warren and Surrey on 29 March 1451. He was sixteen years of age when his father died and succeeded to the titles of Duke of Norfolk and Earl Marshal.

In 1476 he was retained to serve the Yorkist Edward IV in his wars in France for one year, and he was made a Knight of the Garter.

John married Elizabeth Talbot, daughter of John, Earl of Shrewsbury and in 1472 their child Lady Anne was born, but John did not live to see Anne's betrothal to the younger son of the king. He died in 1475.
